OOTS AND WELSHS PURCHASES IN ENGLAND. Thomas Welsh and Howard Oots appear to have been the only American buyers in attendance on the English yearling sales at Newmarket, September 11 to 15. However, aside from what they bought, there were purchases for American account. These will be disclosed in good time. Mr. Oots purchases were mainly of the stock of young sires and secured at bargain prices. Welsh was buying for J. E. Widener and paid more substantial sums.
