COUNSEL took the lead at once and, after being headed, drew away again on the far turn and held the others safe through the last quarter. FENCER was green at the post, hut was a forward contender all the way and finished gamely. LYNETTE ran well and outgamed MAE MURRAY in the final drive. The latter tired in the stretch. SIR EDGAR saved ground on all the turns and finished gamely. TOP O TH MORNING ran a good race, but finally tired under his weight. JACOBA closed a big gap and finished with a rush. CHICLET, after being waited with until well around the far turn, came around on the outside of the leaders and, finishing fast and gamely, outstayed CRIMPER. The latter outran the others and, setting a fast pace, saved ground on all turns and only succumbed right at the end. DADDYS CHOICE began slowly but gained steadily and finished with a rush.
