KENTUCKY RACING DATES ALLOTMENT FOR NEXT YEAR MADE AND RACING WILL BEGIN AT LEXINGTON. Clubs Not Given All They Asked Tokay Defeats Slccth and Is Heavily Bid Up Anna Kruter Also Advanced After "Winning. Cincinnati, O., October 20. Three member of the Kentucky State Racing Commission met ir the La-tonia clubhouse today and allotted the following spring dates to the Kentucky tracks: Kentucky Association, Lexington, April 2S to May 10; 11 days. New Louisville Jockey Club Churchill Downs, Louisville. May 12 to May 25: 12 days. Douglas Park Jockey Club Douglas Park, Louisville, May 2i to June 9; 13 days. Latouia Jockey Club, Latonia, June 11 to July 4; 21 days. The Kentucky Association had asked for 12 days to begin April 27. but ien. W. It. Haldeniau opposed such an allotment, because of his opinion that there was too much racing in Kentucky. On the same ground the request of the Latonia track for 21 days was scaled down to 21. Messrs. T. II. Talbot, Charles F. Grainger and Gen. llaldemau where the only members attending the meeting. Chairman J. N. Camden being absent on account of illness and Judge Allie Young having a pressing business engagement. Con. llaldemau stated that in his opinion there should be less than one hundred days of racing in Kentucky and that most of the complaint of the Mirfeit of racing pertaining to ljouisville. H. C. Applegate, who represented Churchill Downs, was ready to submit officials for next year, practically the same as those serving this year, with the exception of J. 15. Campbells being named r.ecretary instead of Kdward Jasper. The naming of the officials was deferred on request of John llachmeister, who thought that thirty days before the opening of the racing season would be time enough to name officials for each track. Other matters that came before the commission included the probable levying of a state tax, and it was suggested that a committee be appointed to confer with the state tax board on the subject. John Ilogan was granted a trainers license and secretaries on the Kentucky tracks were notified to accept entries from John N. Huffman, who was ruled off at Hawthorne for failure to give up Mary II. after she had been claimed. Tokay was the victor over Sleeth in the mile and an eighth selling handicap. After his victory lie was advanced from an entered price of .,000 to ,100 and bought in. "Walter II. Pcarce did the bidding. Another run-up followed the victory of Anna Kruter in the second nice. She was entered for .1916.sh00 and J. M. Henry advanced her to ,200, but failed to get her. Hell Cow. an outsider, came home in the opening dash a slight margin in advance of Velvet and Immense after a hard drive. T. C. McDowells Latonia showed another good performance when she won the third nice from a smart band of juveniles. Itiillion was in a running notion this afternoon and won the fifth. Charles F. Grainger, on behalf of the Now Louisville Jockey Club, donated .50 this afternoon to the John K. Stringfield fund. Gen. W. IS. Haldeniau was also a liberal donater. II. I. Drown wired to Frank I.ruen that his arrival here would be delayed until- next Sunday. There was n rumor ll-M those interested in the reported new track would be applicants for dates, but no request was received by the commission. The stewards granted permission for Triad to race. The filly has been industriously schooled each morning during the past week. The horses of V. J. Young were shipped to Lexington tonight to go into winter retirement. At todays meeting of the commission there were present a number ot newspaper men, who followed the action attentively. Later the members of the commission, track representatives and newspaper men were entertuv ed at luncheon, the guests of president Harvey y, yers nnd manager John Hach-nieister. Star Jasmine was worked nn additional mile after her race, us a preliminary to her start in the Latonia Cup next Saturday. She ran the last two miles in 3:30. The horses of G. L. Sfang. which were recently barred from starting here, were disposed of by auction in the paddock this morning, and the following prices were "realized: Rhyme, to D. J. Braunon, .,700; Jane Straith. to W. Perkins, ,100; Deliver, to Hiter and Ford. ,200; Chief Drown, to Hiter and Ford. ,400; Samuel It. Mcyr, to niter and Ford, ,400. W. Perkins also became the owner of Prince Eugene, for which he paid 00. Todays Latonia work-outs, with the track fast, were: Dean Spiller Mile in 1:40. Blackthorn Three-eigthths in 38. Bluebannock Five-eighths in 1:07. Business Agent Three-eighths in 3S. Camille Half mile in 50?-;. Chalmers Three-quarters in 1:1G. Fair Mac Mile and a quarter in 2:12. First Degree Five-eighths in 1:CC. Hocnir Three-eighths in 37. J. Rufus Three-eighths in 37. Kris Kriugle Three-quarters in 1:21. Nettie "Walcutt Three-eighths in 36. Quin Half mile in 53.
