FREEMAN was outpaced in the early running, but moved up fast after entering the homestretch and just got up in time to win. PARLOR BOY was always in a contending position and, finishing gamely, was catching the winner and would have won in another stride. MARIE OBRIEN tired after getting to the front, but outstayed TWO ROYALS. The latter ran well. ELIZABETH LEE set a fast pace and tired. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. PALM LEAF, after being in close quarters for the first half, caught ELLEN SMYTH tiring in the final strides and outstayed her in a close finish. ELLEN SMYTH was much used in racing BUNICE into defeat and. tiring, could not withstand PALM LEAFS challenge. DR. CANN ran a good race and finished fast. BUNICE quit when challenged after setting a fast early pace. ELLA JENNINGS closed a big gap. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. HANOVIA was taken too far back and could not get up in a fast finish. KING BOX was raced into exhaustion in the first three-quarters. LITTLE STRING quit.
