CANADIANS GOING INTO WINTER QUARTERS. Toronto, Ont., November 12. A carload of thoroughbreds owned by Toronto horsemen arrived here Friday from Windsor. In the shipment was the stable of Charles Crew, including Corn Broom, Pepper Sauce, Old Po, Miss Gayle, Oriana, Eddie D. and Nellie C, in charge of trainer Sol Mintz; also Akeldama and Joe Gaiety, the property of Mr. Mintz. Thej have taken up quarters at Woodbine, where they will probably winter. The steeplechaser, Joe Gaiety, will probably be disposed of by trainer Mintz. He should make a good hunter. Mintz had a successful season with this string. In the same car from Windsor E. Kelly brought Ella Jennings and McClintock, his own horses, T. Cruttendens two-year-old Starter and William Krausmans Hampton Dame. The latter has been turned over to trainer C. Hagan. She will probably be mated with the English horse Anmer next spring. Trainer Will McDaniel has transferred the Thorncliffe Stable horses from Woodbine Park to Thorncliffe Farm for the winter. That this stable will be formidable in the races for two-year-olds next year is conceded by those who have witnessed some of the smart trials of this stables yearlings at the Ontario Jockey Clubs course during the past ten days.
