CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. A carload of horses will leave Maryland for Tijuana at the conclusion of "the Bowie meeting. At Gravesend Roamer, Babcock, Jimmie Burns and several fillies and geldings spend most of the day in the infield, where they run many impromptu races. "William Hamilton has disposed of Uncle Fritz for saddle purposes, and he has been shipped to Philadelphia. U. C. Airhart has returned from "Windsor with Duke of Chester, King Cotton and Lady Benzol and shipped the remainder of his string, Barette, Eddie Mott and others, to Cuba. The Tijuana Jockey Club was organized at San Diego. Cal., last Thursday, and with it came about the adoption of a set of rules which will be promulgated at an early date. These rulings will govern all future racing of the Lower California Jockey Club, which originally was directed by the rules of the Pacific Jockey Club, an organization which has since gone out of existence. The first stake race of the Tijuana meeting, the Tijuana Selling Stakes, with ,500 guaranteed, at three-quarters of a mile, received seventy-one entries and will be run December 1G. Sangallo, Checks, Maud Bacon, Ed Howard, Scarlet Oaks, Slippery Elm, Conning Tower. Hocnir, Corsican, Kootenay, Dandy Dude, Dervish, Lackrose, King "Worth, Charmeuse and Deliver are among the speedy sprinters nominated. August Belmont has decided that he will not race his smart filly Malachite another year. She is now at Belmont Park, but she will be sent to the Nursery Stud shortly and retired. Hourless and Stromboli have been thrown out of training and will not be given any more work before being taken up to be put in training for the season of 1917. S. C. Hildreth also is giving his latest purchase, Roly, a complete let-up for the remainder of 191C. Mr. Belmonts yearling filly by Fair Play Mahubah, by Rock Sand, has- been renamed Madsa, as it appears the name "Magda" has been claimed before she was ! given it.
