BEGINNING TO GALLOP FAST AT JUAREZ. El Paso, Texas, November 17. With the opening of the winter meeting of the Jockey Club Juarez less than three weeks away, horsemen at Juarez are beginning to let their charges out and fast quarters and hnlves are the order. The horses of the western stables which arrived from Tijuana and Reno are in better condition right now than those which just finished hard campaigns in Kentucky and Canada. The greater number of trainers among the late arrivals will take it easy for a few days and then begin with easy work for a starter. Of all the horses shipped to Juarez this fall, there has been only one reported on the siek list. The ailing one is in the If. Webb string. It is only a matter of a few days at the Mexican track until wonderful improvement is noted in the bodily condition of all horses. Tlie Wallhauscr, Parker, Seck-iugton, OCoanell and Gregg horses, which were L among the advance guard, are in particularly good condition at this early date and are going along promisingly. The stable of J. C. Ferriss headed the two-car shipment from Detroit and Devonshire which recently arrived. There arc nine In the stable, which include also three brought early from Kentucky by W. S. Trevey. In the string that came yesterday for the Tennessee turfman are: Harry L., Raoul, Zudorn. 3Iagikon, Violet, Kagura, Freeman, Alda, and Rhodes. 3Ir. Ferriss is on a side trip to Kentucky points and will later go to Nashville, Tenn., for it visit with relatives before coming to El Paso and Juarez for the winter. While in Kentucky, it is Jir. Ferriss intention to add several horses to ids already pretentions string. Eugene Elrod, who is to be in charge of the pari-mutuels, has arrived from Kentucky. There will be five machines in the new inutuel battery in the betting sheds three one und two five-dollar uia- chines giving service the equivalent of 21 machines because tiie seven will be of the straight, place and show model, the latest in inutuel betting.
