BUSINESS MEETING AT NEW ORLEANS. Board of Stewards Appointed John Dillon Elected Director New Selling Race Provision. New Orleans, La., December 14. At a meeting of the directorate of the Business Mens Racing Association, held last night, John Dillon, a prominent merchant of this city, was elected a director, and much routine business relating to the coming meeting was transacted. The following board of stewards was ratified: A. B. Lettelier, John T. Gibbons, Jr.. Frank St. John and Andrew Jackson Stalling. The board of stewards AA-as appointed at the suggestion of Judge Murphy, and its duties Avill consist of a general supervision of track affairs during Mr. Murphys presence in the judges stand. The stewards Avill also serve as a board of appeals at the meeting. The following new rule Avas adopted this morning and announced by Judge Murphy: "In all selling races and purse races at this meeting, at a distance of a mile or over, the folloAving allowance may be claimed Avithout respect to other alloAvances for horses that have never won a race at a mile or over three-year-olds alloAved three pounds; four-year-olds and over, five pounds." E. W. Morse has taken over Joe Finn, oA-ned by F. Musante, and will race him during the meeting. R. L. Baker will arrive tomorroAA- from his home in Lexington. His horses Avill be trained by Ed Trotter and this, apparently, insures jockey F. Robinson of being the stable rider.
