PARI-MUTUELS FOR OKLAHOMA. Bill Patterned After Kentucky Law to Be Introduced in Legislature Next Month. Tulsa, Okla., December 20. Bills to legalize both horse racing and boxing will be introduced immediately after the Oklahoma Legislature convenes next month. The proposed racing law will be patterned after the one in operation in Kentucky. It will provide for the pari-mutuel system of book-making, with the state receiving a five per cent commission on all wagers. It is claimed that if some such law is not placed ou the statute books of Oklahoma to encourage the breeding of good horses, of which Oklahoma has been depleted by the demands of warring European countries, a blooded animal will be a thing of the past iu this state in a few years. Frank Ufer, former manager of Carl Morris, and one of the wealthiest oil operators in Oklahoma, will build a great racing plant in Tulsa in event the sport is legalized. His plans cull for a mile track and a steel and concrete grandstand, seating 0,000, tlie total outlay to cost 00,000.
