PREPARING FOR FIGHT AT BALTIMORE. Local Paper Says Objections Will Be Raised as Soon as Racing Dates Arc Asked. Virtually all other race track owners throughout Maryland are understood to be bitterly opposed to the establishment of tiie new plant. The view is taken that .Maryland is now permitting as much racing as she will ever allow and that the new track will probably result in the passage of a stringent anti-betting law by the next legislature, which will end racing in the state altogether. Jiu?t bow far those back of the track will go in their fight for the new plant is not known. It is commonly reported that "Frank" Kelly, the West Baltimore Democratic leader, is one of those interested and that all his influence will be brought to bear to secure the necessary raeing dates and authority from the racing commission. I While no persons interested In existing tracks " would talk today, it was understood that objections will be raised before the Baltimore County Racing Commission as soon as the East Baltimore Association applies for dates. Two points will probably be raised, first that the East Baltimore Association was not actually created before the racing act of 1912, and, second, that the charter of the organization was allowed by the incorporators to lapse. Hence, it is said, it will be claimed that the present organization is outside the pale of driving or racing clubs which are entitled to allotment of dates. While the attitude of the County Racing Commis-sion is not known, it is possible that a decision by the latter either way will result in an appeal to the courts. Baltimore Star.
