CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. lackey Ted Bice is working the G. M. Hcndrie horses at the Fair Grounds under the watchful eye of trainer Walters. M-yriek Bpearfoot, a colt by Kings Proctor, and ten yearling colts have recently been shippi d from England to Brazil by W. Hopkins of the Paddocks, Aslitead. Dick, the Epsom. England, flat race jockey, having arrived at military age, lias joined the Fifth Dragoons, a regiment to which Lieut. Stanley Woat-ton was recently transferred. James J. Corbett. former heavyweight champion. expects to race a string of horses next year. Corbett was in Lexington Saturday and paid a visit to John E. Maddeiis Hamburg Place with a view of securing several horeea. Blake Crawford, wealthy hotel proprietor of Toronto. Canada, has been attracted to .New Orleans by the big meeting at the Fair Grounds and he intends to winter there. Mr. Crawford formerly spent the chilly bedbou in Florida.
