BEYAM0 HANDICAP TO SPEEDY ANITA. Bedwell Racer Defeats Best Sprinters at Oriental Park — Jockey Ball Rides Two Winners. Havana. Cuba, January 20. — The Beyamo Handicap, the feature race at Oriental Park this afternoon, brought the best band of sprinters to the post that has faced the barrier at the Cuban track this winter. H. G. Bedwell furnished the winner in Anita, which came from the rear and beat Liberator a length and a half. Imperator. which was making his first start in almost a year, showed keen speed for five-eighths, but lack of condition told on him at the end and he tired. The attendance was unusually large, a big influx of tourists swelling the ranks of the regulars. Jockey Ball rode two winners. Wizard and Anita. The latter was the first winner which H. G. Bed-well has sent to the post for several days. The third and sixth races furnished close finishes, in which Regular lasted long enough to get the decision over Zodiac, and March Court finished with a rush to get up in the final stride and beat Naushon by a head. W. Torpey. the globe trotter, was an arrival and will remain the balance of the meeting.
