WINTER RACING GOOD FOR NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans, La.. January 20. — Despite adverse weather and bad track conditions the racing at the Fair Grounds is going along smoothly and the officials of the Business Mens Racing Association are highly pleased with results, and are sanguine that with more favorable weather the present meeting will eclipse the two previous seasons. Supervisor I. B. Rennyson, in personal charge of the immense plant outside of racing, reports the whole big system running smoothly, and has high hopes for a magnificent season. "The brilliant success of our splendid live stock, agricultural and educational fair should cause all public-minded citizens to support and help keep clean an institution that is accomplishing the good our winter racing season does. Racing operated as our association is conducting it, is wholly of New-Orleans and for New Orleans, and with another successful season assured, we already have begun to lay gigantic plans for our annual fair of next fall. After all is said and done, development and perpetuat ion of this splendid annual exposition is the chief aim of the Business Mens Racing Association, though none will deny that commercial prosperity in New Orleans is aided by our racing seasons."
