CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. The apprentice boy, R. Troise, rode two winners at Juarez Thursday. Frank Regan, trainer for the Cleveland Stable, has but three horses in his winter barn at Grave-send. They are Dorcas, Whimsy and Russian Pinion. A New York dispatch says that J. D. Odom, father of George Ouom. is seriously ill at the Bath Beach Sanitarium, to which he was removed Thursday from his home at the Gravesend truck. Winter play-grounds for thoroughbreds are a feature of some of the training stables at the New Vork tracks. They are generally she-ds so arranged as to Catch tin- sunlight and give the thoroughbre-ds opportunity to move- aboat with considerable freedom. It is saiel the horse-s readily le-irn to take advantage of the places and show their appreciation by frisking about whenever the "play hours" arrive.
