LIKE IRISH IMPORTATION, IRON CROSS. Canadian Comment on Recent Arrivals at Gartshore Farm, Near Hamilton. Seven Irish thoroughbreds, which wore recently brought out from Ireland, are now quartered at the farm of John Gartshore, Mineral Springs, near Hamilton, says the Toronto Star. The most admired one is Iron Cross. a black colt by Galloping Simon. As a two-year-old he won two races in Ireland, one of which was the Curragh Plate. Irelands leading two-year-old event, in a field of fourteen starters. His other win was at a mile, weight for age. It is understood that J. S. Hendrie has taken a liking to him, and that he may be purchased by that gentleman. Two of the band. Never Fear and Royal Spinner, an- said to lx- high-class jumpers, the former winning tiie Qalaray Plate, which is Irelands greatest steeplechase race. In addition to the seven now quartered at Mineral Springs. Opera lilass. a four-yi-nr-old, which was bought for Strathearn B.
