HAVANA SPORT EXHILARATING. Close and Hard -Fought Contests Entertain Oriental Park Patrons — Poughkeepsie Good Colt. Havana, Cuba, February 3.— Senor A. I.ezama furnished the winner of todays opening race at Oriental Park in the good hioking Hastings colt. Poughkeepsie. which beat his opponents with eight lengths advantage at the finish. He was an adds on favorite and was ridden by E. Ambrose. It was the hitters first mount in several weeks. Close finishes marked the running of thf third, fourth, fifth and sixth races, in which small margins si Berated the first two horses in each instance. Laura, due to an energetic ride by Taplin. just managed to get up in time to beat lzzet Bey a nose in the closing stride in the third race. Deviltry and Regular won their races by heads, while only a neck separated Rescue and Hiker. The colors of T. Cheek were carried to victory for the first time in many months when Miss Prim- I ity beat Joaquin a scant length in the second race. Among the visitors were Sidney Ripley, the Meadowbrook Hunt Club polo player and 1. Elkins. a member of the Coronadu Polo Club. They will I enter the tournament here. K. M. Small claimed Supreme for 25 after he was beaten in the sixth race.
