+ J. WINNERS OF 0,000 OR MORE, NEARLY ALL OF WHICH ARE STILL ENGAGED IN RACING + ■ — 4« Of recent years circumstances have been adverse to any of our good horses accumulating a big total of money won. It was Cumpfires good luck to capture the two most valuable prizes of the American turf last year, so he has a long start on the road to a prominent place in the list of great money winners. If he retains his form and escapes injury it may be his portion to eventually eclipse the 4,475 standing to the credit of Novelty, our last big winner. Counting his winnings in England, Borrow is now at the head of our present-day important winners, with Roamer second. Only the two have 0. 001 or more to their credit. Such sound young horses of high class as Dodge and The Finn may attain similar figures before the time arrives for Hall retirement from the bloodless warfare of the track. In the list of good winners Pan Zareta has at least cue distinction, in that she won more races than any other horse in the list. The following table gives the list of horses in action last year which have won §20,000 or more and is replete with interest: Horse. Age. Pedigree. Owner. Sts. 1st. 2d. 3d. Fnp. Won.
