HAPPENINGS IN BLUE GRASS STATE. Many New Members Added to Horsemen Association — Many Turfmen at W. S. Barnos Funeral. l.Xington. Ky.. March 3. — Fifty-two new members were added t i the Thoroughbred Horse Association at a meeting of the board of directors here today. O. H. Keene was appointed chairman of a committee to look after the interests of the association during the two meetings at Hot Springs. Letters from racing secretaries, in response to re-i|ii st from the association, indicate that many more races will be given this year for three-year-olds exclusively. It is rumored here that Harry Payne Whitney has a deal on in New York with the executors of the James B. Haggii estate for a big portion of Klemcndorf Farm. Jockey Morays today reported to J. C. Milam, for whom he will ride. Pre sident Charles F. Grainger of the New Louisville- Jockey Club, came here today to attend the funeral of William S. Harn-s. Nearly every turfman in this section was present at the- burial of this genial man. who for many years devoted much time and money in the thoroughbred breeding industry. J. S. Hawkins has added by purchase the good horse Dr. Harlow to his string. ■I urn Powers and W. I*. Orr ere here for a clay or two. inspecting some horses with a view of baying. Messrs, It. T. WUsoa and Thomas llealey are expi c ted here from New York tomorrow to see the sister to anipfire and otlier thoroughbreds at Kirklevingten Farm. Townsenil sold tin- two-year-old brown filly by Rapid Water Hlue Jacket ami a yearling bay colt by Duke of Ormonde -Hlue Hall to Fant Johnson. 1 he first foal by Pock View is a chestnut filly, dam Arcadia, at Thasaas Piatts Brookdase Farm.
