SUCCESSFUL HAVANA MEETING ENDED. Big Crowd Witnesses Last Days Sport — Jockey Cruiso Reinstated — Officials Leave. Havana. Cuba. March 19. — The eighty-five day winter meeting of the Cuba-American Jockey Club closed with the running of todays program. The card was made up of a series of sidling races. the conditions of which were framed up for the poorest lass of horses. Spirited contests were in seder, however, and much enthusiasm was shown by the large gathering, which turned out for the extra day- racing, given for the benefit of the employes of Havana newspapers, wheeu publications had been suspended by the government. Jockey Cruise was restored to full privileges after the showing the mare Palm Leaf made in the first race today. As in her previous start, she dropped out of contention in the early running and failed to finish in the money. Starter James Milton leaves Wednesday for Baltimore, wht re he will make his home until late next fall. C. J. Fitz Gerald will return to New York and M. Nathanson to Chicago. H. I. Brown will remain here for several weeks, superintending improvements of the pleat. A special horse tram will pull out of here for Bowie tomorrow and another will leave Thursday morning.
