THREE-YEAR-OLD WINNERS IN ARGENTINA. Among the recent three -year-old winners of importance in the Argentine are two tail-male descendants of Bead Or, sae of Sterling, and one of St. Simon. One of tin- Bend Or line winners. Irun. goes back via Martagon, through the hitters son Calloway, whereas the other, lues Sol. traces to the lsso Derby winner via Fisherman. Orange and Orbit. The last-named was sent out there many years back, and was one of the most successful sires of his day. He succeeded, moreover, in establishing himself in the male line, as will be seen from the fact that lues Sols sire is one of his grandsons. The Sterling line winner Zainuco goes back to the famous sire of the more celebrated Isonomy. via the stallion Cerrito. Stiletto and Beaudesert. The last-named is, of course, the Middle Bark Blate winner of LS7!». by Sterling— Seagull. The St. Simon family winner American Queen, is by Escamillo. which was by Simonside son of St. Simon and Daisy Chain — Citana. a daughter of the famous American horse Foxlull. American Queen is inbred to St. Simon, her dam, American Cirl. Iw-ing by the Messrs. Highams Solim:iu. which was by St. Simon — Alibech. — Loudon Sportsman.
