Uidgley, one of the youngest, but a v rthelesa expert, trainers, has charge of the collection and it i an accessary to say they are all healthy after a winter at I.clmonl park. Mr Cochran is on- of the bite additions to turf ranks and is devoted to the breeding of his own horses. Hi- esteMisbnteal is at Mount Kisco I. in a few years, he is sun- to become one of the prominent breeders in the fashionable set. "I like the spoil and the healthful exercise .,t- taehed to It," says Mr. Cochran. "Nothing to me is more phasing or encouraging than to see horses of ones own raising winning race-. There is something delightful in watching th" youngsters grow from the lanky ami gaw ky-feoklag weanlings t«. the superb race horse. Then comes the victory in a high -class race. The satisfaction is supreme. Baring is the most enjoyable and invigorating pastime on.- can enjoy in my opinion." .Mr. Cachran has what one might call a fine stable of horses. They may not all be stake win acta, lilt his older horses have proved their value by many victories. What his two-year olds vvil do remains to be seen. In his younger string the hrccding is decidedly varied, nine of the ten being by dilt. rent sires. Sain being twice represented. Mr. Cachran is evidently experimenting in the breeding line until he gathers a strain of blood that is fruitful. While Mr. Cochrans stable is not as extensive as those owned by some of the other fashionable owners, there is no question but that his colors will be seen frequently. Trainer Midgley is well satisfied with his charges, which will be ready for the opening of the New York season at Jamaica.
