LEGISLATURE SURPRISED AT STATEMENT. Toronto, Out.. April li. — John S. Berger, general manager of the Tiiomcliffe Park Baling and Breeding Association, who is credited with being one of the principals in the fight between the racing associations and reformers, to save the racing situation in the Province of Ontario, has given out a statement to convince the legislature that the Davies estate has been breeding horses for over forty years at a loss of S1,000, KM . "The Davies estate owns 1.100 acres of land valued at S1...00.0O0. used for breeding purposes." said Mr. Berger. "The annual interest of the land has also been a loss in addition to the ,000,000 spent for breeding purposes, which proves that AH is not gold that glitters. There are now over eight head of horses in training on the Davies farm in addition to a number of stallions for breeding purposes for tiie Canadian government." The legislature was much surprised at Mr. Bergera statement, which had some effect in the investigation. Mr. Berger also states that some of the most prominent residents of Toronto are spending an additional 2.10.000 improving their plant, which will be one of the most beautiful iu Canada whan completed. Pacing at Thorncliffe Perk next summer will be over the full term allowed by the Dominion government.
