June ." . — Everything is now in readiness for the opening of the spring meeting of the Montreal Jockey Club at lflue Ponnets on Thursday. The book of the meeting has been favorably received by the horsemen, and providing, as it does, for all classes, good fields should lie the result in almost every event. The stake races at Plue Poimets this spring will furnish plenty of contention. They all filled exceedingly well, the result being away in advance of the number named a year ago.
