Track conditions showed a decided improvement. George Walker shipped the Brookdale horses from here to Windsor, where they will be" rested until the opening of that meeting. E. W. Moore also sent a division of his stable to the Windsor track. George M. Hendrie, who has been hero during the entire meeting, will stop oft at Fort Erie for a days racing on his way to Windsor. Porretto was held responsible for the frantic actions of Reybourne in the paddock and at the post yesterday and the stewards suspended him, while also ordering the further entries of the horse refused. The Canadian-bred racer Ladder of Light, owned by George W. Beardmore, developed a severe case of fever and was excused from starting in the Dominion Plate by the stewards. Several stables shipped to Grand Rapids from here, among them T. F. Bornman, W. C. Weant and J. O., Kccne. Jockeys Gourley and Donohue went with the Bornman string. W. A.. Burttschell announced that at the conclusion of the Canadian racing, he would ship the main division of his stable from Windsor direct to Havre de Grace. The Dick Welles filly Fruit Cake will be sent to Saratoga to meet some of the eastern cracks. Fruit Cake has won eleven races during the present year. From the time that this filly was thrown into training as a two-year-old, she has had only a six weeks let up.
