PHILISTINE, showing the most speed from the start, raced EULOGY into defeat in the first half and drew away into a safe lead in the stretch. SAVILLA began slowly, but steadily improved her position and outstayed EULOGY in the final drive. The latter ran well and was on the outside of the pacemaker all the way. ANITA quit in the last quarter. DURWARD ROBERTS was cut off oh the stretch turn and ran a good race. Scratched 32540"True as Steel. 114; 340573 Blaise, 108. The hitter was a forward contender, all the way and, finishing with a rush, was wearing the winner, down. .LEOCHARES ran well. SKEPTIC was cut off on the first turn and forced to pull up and go to the outside. WESTY HOGAN set a great pace for the first half and quit badly.
