EQUINE KING CROWNED LAST WEEK. An equine king was crowned last week It was bestowed on the noble head of Wilfred Vims colt Omar Khayyam Wednesday afternoon when he won the Brooklyn Derby at the Aqueduct track from three of the best three-year-olds in the country including August Belmonts colt Hourless, unbeaten as a three-year-old. The race was decided over the one mile and an eighth course in mud that was ankle decn. but Mr iau s colt won in such impressive fashion tint it was the unanimous opinon or horsemen that lie would have won easier over a fast track. After a phenomenal run through the stretch ho poked his nose home ahead of Harrv Payne Whitneys Rickety. Ticket finished third and Hourless lust. This victory and his defeat of Richard T. Wilsons Cunpfire in the Prosnect Stakes the previous week gave Omar Khayyam the undisputed right to the title.
