MARTRE worked her way up on the inside and came through the stretch with a rush. MISS FANNIE closed a gap and iiuished fast. LINDENTHAL and KING 1USCAN began slowly and also closed big gaps in the linal quarter. BIRD MAN set the early pace, but quit. YANKEE NOTIONS set a fast pace under slight restraint, displayed excellent gameness when challenged, came again under punishment and just failed to get up. POLLY J. finished well and readily passed the others in the last eighth. HIDDEN STAR quit. PULLUX was in close quarters- all the way and moved up gamely at the eighth post, but was tiring in the closing strides.
