ASK MOUNT ROYAL TO SUN BIG STAKES. Breeders Petition London Jockey Club to Stage Kings Plato and Provincial Nursery. Montreal, Que., July 21. The Kings Plate and Provincial Nursery, important racing events for Quebec breeders, which have been staged annually at the fall meeting at Blue Bonnets, may he run this year, despite the fact that Blue Bonnets will not have another meeting and that racing ends in Canada on July 31. A number of provincial breeders, headed by Sam Nesbitt, one oT the best-known local horsemen, have petitioned the Mount Royal track to stage these two events in the meeting to be held there under the auspices of the London Jockey Club next week. The request was made yesterday, and the club was today in communication with the provincial government regarding the matter. Both the events call for large purses, and considering that Mount Royal is meeting with opposition next week from Maisonneuve and Kemp-ton Park, which also opens a meeting Tuesday, it is felt that the request must be given careful consideration. The program book for the meeting of the London Jockey Club lias already been distributed among the horsemen at Delorimier Park. Tho book is on the same lines as that for the meeting held at Mount Royal during tho last week in June and offers an event for Canadian-bred horses each afternoon. The track is in splendid condition to race over and there are now a number of owners stabled at the course, to prepare their horses for the meeting. The officials will be practically the same as those at the spring meeting, although there will be a number of new names cn the list of officers of the London Jockey Club.
