MADDEN OWNS NEARLY A HUNDRED FOALS. Lexington, Ky., July 21. There are ninety-three thoroughbred foals running with tlieif dams on Hamburg Place and they are all the property of John E. Madden. In so far as is known, no other man in the world today is the owner of as many baby racers as .that. There are fifty-seven colts and thirty-six fillies arid that is a splendid proportion, as regards the sexes and shows that this astute horseman still has his lilck. Seventeen of the youngsters are by the famous old sire Star Shoot, which stands at. the head of the list of stallions in America. An equal number are by Or-mondale. Fourteen are by Sea King. A dozen are by the French liorso Pataud. Ten each are by Ogden and Hessian. Three are by Wrack, two by Ballot, two by Ben Trovato and one each by All Gold. Celt, Theo. Cook, Suffragist, Harrigan and Jim Gaffney, a sire that is much in request., The dams of these weanlings are Astarita, Autumn Leaves, American Girl. Antella, Anytime, Auvergne, Belle of Ormonde, Blue Grass, Ballyna-hinch, Busy Girl, Blue Stockings, Belle of Glen-dale, Coat, Caprice.
