Won driving; second and third the same. FLAME responded gamely to punishment in the stretch and, wearing the tiring pacemaker down, got up to win in the linal stride. MISS EDWARDS drew away into a long lead while rounding the far turn, but tired badly in the last eighth. KITTIWAKE finished with a rush on the outside. ARDENT took the lead quickly, raced VIOLET into defeat and, drawing away into a long lead, was under restraint at the end. AMPERE II. raced well up all the way and finished gamely. EL PALOMAR outstayed OLD BOB at the end after closing a gap. The latter ran well and finished gamely. VIOLET tired in the stretch drive. SMIT1IFIELD and KOSCAS finished close up. SKILES KNOB, off in a tangle, was not persevered with. TRUE AS STEEL quit early. MINNOW closed a big gap into a fast going third. LADY MEXICAN was forced wide on the turns. AIRGINIA AV. ran well. ED GARRISON quit after setting a fast pace to the stretch.
