Won driving; second and third the same. FAIRY WAND was in close quarters until entering the homestretch, where she secured a clear course and, finishing fast, got up to win. in the closing strides. MARIE MILLER showed excellent speed and set a fast pace for five-eighths, but tired when challenged. QUEEN OF THE WATER began slowly, but closed a big gap and outstayed JULIA LEON in the final drive. The latter w-as flatfooted at the start but closed a big gap in the early running and tired from the effort. COLUMBINE met with minor interference while rounding the last turn, but held on gamely in the homestretch. AMERICA ran a creditable race. DIVERSION made Up ground. VERDANT was high in ilesli. CREST HILL made a game effort in the final half mile, but tired under punishment in the final drive; THE BROOK took the lead with a rush when going to the fifteenth jump, but also tired when challenged. TETAN displayed excellent speed for the first turn of the field, fencing in clean fashion, hut quit badly in the last quarter and was eased up. SHANNON RIAER had no mishaps. Won driving; second and third the same. PAPP, away forwardly, dropped back, but saved ground on the stretch turn arid, responding gamely to punishment, wore the leaders down in the last sixteenth and won drawing clear. DRASTIC began slowly and was shullled back in the first sixteenth, but gradually improved his position, swerved in behind the leaders at a critical point in the last eighth, then finished fast when clear. NUTCRACKER was a forward contender throughout and made a game final effort, but was interfered with by DRASTIC!S swerving. SUN BRIAR, hard ridden in the early running, raced into a long lead, but tired when challenged in the homestretch. BULLY BOY showed speed in blinkers and held on gamely in the final drive. THISTLE, forced wide all the way, gained fast on the leader in the homestretch. ESCOBA, away poorly, had no opportunity. The last four at the start had little chance. OMAR KHAYYAM, after being saved under restraint in the early running, moved up to the leaders with a rush on the stretch turn and passed AVAR STAR under punishment in the homestretch, but was hard ridden to near the finish. AVAR STAR saved ground on the first turn and set a moderate pace to the last eighth, then held on gamely when challenged. MIDWAY raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the stretch, then came again under punishment in the last eighth and was gaining in the closing strides. MANNCHEN was under pressure all the way and made a game effort after entering the homestretch, but tired near the end. EULOGY was shullled back in the first eighth and forced wide on the last turn.
