Won handily; second and third driving. WALNUT HALL was saved under slight restraint until in the last eighth, then challenged and, wearing the leader down, won going away. ICARUS displayed excellent speed and, setting a fast pace, withstood repeated challenges from VERDANT, but tired in the closing strides. VERDANT was hard ridden throughout and ran a good race, but tired finally. MOUNTAIN ROSE II. was in close quarters on. the baekstretch, but closed a big gap when clear. CURRAGHALEEN displayed much speed, raced ROCK FISH to defeat early and drew clear, but tired from his early effort in the last quarter. BALLYBAY easily held the others safe. FIRST BALLOT set a fast pace and, racing into a long lead, won in a canter. PRECISE saved ground on the turns and finished gamely. THORNHILL was always a forward contender and finished resolutely under punishment. MOTHER MACHREE ran well and would have been closer up with a stronger rider. ZAMORA could not secure a clear course. CLEEK had no mishaps and quit badly. DEER TRAP was never prominent and pulled up lame. The winner, entered for 00. was bid up to ,305 and bought in. SUNBONNET, much the best, raced under restraint in the early running, then gradually improved her position and, taking the lead in the stretch, won easing up. WISTFUL came around the leader in the homestretch and finished a fast going second. FAIRY WAND set a good pace for a mile and tired, hut held the others safe. JULIALEON tired in the last quarter. COLUMBINE quit badly after going a mile. BELLA DESMOND was hard ridden throughout, but sulked and refused to extend herself. The last three were never prominent. Won driving; second and third the same. HANK ODAY followed the leaders closely to the backstretch, where he took the lead and held on with tenacity when challenged. CHICLET met with much early interference, but saved ground on the stretch turn and, finishing gamely under restraint, outstayed HENDRIE in the final drive. HENDRIE slipped through next to the rail on the turn, then came fast in the homestretch and made a game effort, but was tiring in the closing strides. DADDYS CHOICE, outpaced early, saved ground on the turns and finished gamely. FIZER was frequently shuffled back in the first three-quarters and forced wide in the homestretch and ran a creditable race. FLITTERGOLD was hard ridden in the early running and tired in the last quarter. VIEWPOINT was pulled up when he tired. BALLY was almost knocked down on the last turn. Won handily; second and third driving. HIGH COST, after being a forward contender until straightened out in the homestretch, drew clear under hard riding and held the race safe in the final drive. ATALANTA raced next to the rail all the way and, passing COMPADRE, took the lead and held on gamely, but could not withstand the winners challenge. SALVESTRA began slowly and was forced to race extremely wide, but finished with a lelated rush through the last eighth and was gaining at the end. COMPADRE showed the most speed for a half and tired as if short. THISTLE had a rough race. AMERICAN began slowly and closed a big gap. PLUM ran out on the last turn. SUBAHDOR and NAROSLA ran green.
