LIVE TURF GOSSIP FROM SARATOGA. By Ed Colo. Congressman Peter Dooling was one of the enormous crowd that came from New York today. It is probable that time students will find a difference in the time of the races for the remainder of the meeting, compared with the first ten days. The track was scraped last Tuesday and some of the sandy top dressing removed. Since then it has been slow and cuppy until todav, owing to recent rains. Horsemen think it- will possibly be a second faster in the future than is has been during the early days. "He is just about the best horse we have had in this country in years," as Dick Carmans remark after Omar Khayyam had galloped home in the Travers. "Hes just a bear" chimed in Bntwell, "and galloped easily just as fast as the other horses were running. All you have to do is to talk to him and away he goes. Hourless will have a merry time beating him." "I am certainly glad to have Omar Khayyam iu my big cup race," was John Ilachmeisters remark after the Travers. "He is the horse of the hour without question, the idol of the turf." Trainer Carman has had several offers for Omar Khayyam since he was bought by Mr. Aiau. "Be-for the Suburban was run Ral Parr offered 0,000 for him," said Carman today, "and onlv a few minutes George AA Loft intimated that he would give 00,000 for him. He is not for sale, as I dont think. Mr. Aiau would listen to any proposition."
