LIVE TURF GOSSIP FROM SARATOGA. By Ed Cole. Saratoga. X. Y.. August 22. Rahu ran in the interest of the Elkwood stable in the Grab Bag Handicap. The filly will be returned to the Cor-rigan stable, which sold one of the subscriptions to Mr. Lewisohn, the owner of the Elkwood stable. Jack Hare Jr., the winner of the Grab Bag Handicap, was leased by R. T. Wilson for the race and will go back to Mr. Applegate. The horse was beaten in his last race, owing to the exceedingly cuppy going on that day. Molesworth said after dismounting upon that occasion that the colt could not extend himself in the going. Peak had to take off three pounds to ride at 120. The much-mooted question as to whether Jack Hare Jr. would stay was settled three days ago, when he worked three-quarters in 1:13 for the race. Fred Burlew has decided to locate at Gravesend and form a public training stable. Clockers speak highly of Mr. Macombers two-year-old. War Cloud. He beats all his opponents in trials in the morning. They claim, however, that nothing more can be guaranteed until he has shown his calibre in races. ; Syossett II., the high-class steeplechaser which has been out of commission for some time, will be seen again at Belmont Park, according to reports from the Greentree stable. The son of Hamburg Mineola is one of the best cross-couutry horses in training.
