OMAR KHAYYAM AND HOURLESS TO MEET IN LAWRENCE REALIZATION STAKES TODAY i The Belmont Park meeting comes to a close this afternoon. For the closing day feature the Westchester Racing Association lias provided the ever popular Lawrence Realization Stakes. The renowned Salvator won the initial running of the Lawrence Realization in 1889. Then came Tournament, Potomac and Tammany. Hamburg won it in 1898 and Prince of Melbourne in 1900. Major Daingerfield was the winner in 1902 and was followed by such celebrated racers as Africander, Ort Wells, Sysonby, Accountant, Dinna Ken, Fair Play, Fitz Herbert and Sweep. Today, in the twenty-fifth renewal of the Lawrence Realization, Omar Khayyam and Hourless, the acknowledged stars of their age, meet to settle the much debated question as to which is the better colt. As these two appear the only probable starters, the race has practically resolved itself into a match race. If the track is fast August Belmonts great colt is counted on by many to lower the colors of this years Kentucky Derby winner, which many turfmen say is one of the best horses seen in this country in some years. Suffice it to say that it will be- a grand contest and the winner, which ever it may be. will be worthy to be included in the list of the winners of this famous race, the tabulated history of which is here presented: Year.
