CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF The final time of race 3050! should read 1:40 instead of 1:41 as printed. It is expected that the fields will be. larger at New Orleans as soon as the track becomes more settled. A consignment of horses, which raced, at the recent Bowie meeting, is expected at Oriental Park, Havana, today. When all the horses expected from Maryland and Kentucky have arrived at New Orleans, there will be over one thousand thoroughbreds quartered at both tracks. Every precaution is being taken at New Orleans to prevent any violations of the betting laws, as defined by the Supreme Court in its decisionVleclarlng oral betting legal. Jockey W. Crump must maintain a good average of winning mounts at Oriental Park from now on until the first of the year, or he will be displaced from the leadership of American jockeys for 1917, as Albert Johnson anil Frank Robinson, his nearest competitors, are riding In brilliant form at New Orleans and gul-lng 0.11 the leader.
