H. G. BEDWELL VISITS MONTREAL Looks Over Mares at the Breeding Farm of J. K. L. Ecus, His Employer, at Vercheres. Montreal, Quo.. December 7. Trainer H. O. Bed-well of the J. K. L. Ross stable, was in Montreal Monday and paid a visit to the farm at Vercheres to overlook the work being carried on there for the reception of the broodmares which will be shipped to Canada to foal next spring. These foals will be eligible for the events for Canadian-bred horses, as well as tlie Kings Plate, run at Blue Bonnets, and the Provincial Nursery, which is an event for two-year-olds bred in tlie province of Quebec. Bedwell had little to say regarding the intentions of Mr. Ross. Nothing definite has been done regarding the shipment of the horses to Cannda and only part of the stable will be raced at New Or-leansduring this winter. The best of the horses in the Ross string are now at the farm .in Maryland, where they will be wintered and later on prepared for the spring campaign on the .Maryland race tracks. Bedwell was successful with the string and won many races in Maryland during the fall meetings. It is hardly likely that Bedwell will have anything to do with the farm at Vercheres, the management of which will likely fall to I. A. OMeara, who at one time figured prominently among the Canadian owners. Mr. Bedwell left here after a conference with Mr. Ross to go to Kentucky.
