EMIL HERZ RETURNS TO NEW YORK New York, December 20. Emil Herz, who is back in town, announces that lie acquired, along" with Messrs. Lissenberger and Jacobs, the mare Clematis II., bought recently at the Oscar Lewisohn sale. He said that the mare probably would be shipped to Lexington within a few days, to be bred to Short Grass, who is now at Col. Edward R. Bradleys Idle Houc Farm. It is barely possible that Clematis II. might be trained on for another year, although she is "bowed," but this will be decided definitely within a few days. .Herz also expressed an inclination to purchase Coronis, the marc which arrived along with a foal by Greenback too late for the sale. W. L. Powers reported that Coronis and her young colt had been shipped to Silverbrook Farm in New Jersey last Saturday. She is being held at 0,000 and it is reported that Mr. Powers has been offered ,000 for the mare and foal.
