1 I 1 ■ I 1 r I . DERBY CANDIDATE PARTIZAN DEAD Louisville. Ky., April 12. -Pattizau. a Kentucky Dei by candidate, died at Douglas Park this morning, after an ilne*s of ten day*. He was brought here from Hot Springs bv John Lowe, consigned to Mose ■ Goldblatt. trainer of the Jeffer-on Livingston stable. and contracted the illne*s that re*ulted iu his 1 death. While enroute here Dr. Richards labored ineffectually to save the colts life. Partizan was a chestnut colt, by oter — Genny. and was bred by John Sanford. He raced in the colors of Sam l»uis at Xew Orleans and about a month ago was purchased by Mr*. M. Scollard. of j Cincinnati, for a reis.rted price of S3..-,m». Mrs. Scollard is the mother in law of Most- Gold- blatt and the latter had been entrusted with the ■ colts training for hi* Derby engagement. Mr. Gold-t - blatt is coutined to his apartments here with a severe - cojd.
