CRESSON", after racing in close pursuit of the leaders from the start, saved ground on the stretch turn and, coming fast iu the final drive, outstayed ORMONDA in a close -finish. ORMONDA set a fast pace and showed much speed throughout, but tired slightly iu the closing strides. MADAM BYNG raced on the outside of the leaders all the way and ran a good race. MRS. MARCH COURT, after being saved until going to the eleventh fence, moved up quicklv and held PANDEAN safe through the last eighth. The latter led most of the way and came again under punishment. MAE MURRAY began slowly, but closed a big gap and, after working her way up on the outside, finished with a rush. ANNIE EDGAR shook off VILEY at the sixteenth post, but was tiring at the end. PULLUX came through on the inside after entering the homestretch and finished fast and gamely. KOH-I-NOOR ran well to the stretch, but quit at the end. BERLIN and GAME COCK ran jioorly. JACK HARE JR. took the lead quickly and. making the pace fast, raced CHARLIE LEYDECKKB into defeat in the first half and drew away into a long lead in the homestretch. CHARLIE LEYDECKER ran a good and game race, but tired and just lasted long enough to outstay HIGH COST. The latter finished gamelv and would have been second in another stride.
