ALL SET FOR DOUGLAS PARK RACING Speculation Stakes Opening Say Feature — Fields Small But of Good Calibre. Louisville, Ky., May 25. — The stage is all set at beautiful Douglas Park for Mondays opening of the fourteen lays spring »ecttl of the Douglas Park Jockey Club. That it will h« by far tlie finest season of racing ever staged at this well conducted course, is assured in advance by the tremendous interest which is being shown in the events which are to lx- decided during the meeting, the availability of more high-class horses to furnish contention in the EMM than at any previous time in the history of the track and the superb condition of the course, which has been improved by the resoiiing of the track surface. The plant as a whole was never in better condition for the comfort and accomodation of its patrons than it is at this moment. General Manager John Hachmeister makes it a point to leave nothing undone that might enhance the comfort and convenience of patrons of the track and everything that can be done in that direction has received attention. The card for the opening day, with the Speculation Stakes of ,500 added, over the mile and one-sixteenth course, and several other high-class races of the overnight type as special features, holds out the promise of an afternoon of sport of the utmost excellence and brilliancy, with which to give the meeting an auspicious inauguration. The opening raee will take place at 2:30 oclock, which will be fifteen minutes later than at Churchill Downs, where the New Louisville Jockey Club closes a wonderfully successful meeting this afternoon.
