RACING STATISTICS OF TEE METROPOLITAN JOCKEY CLUBS MEETING AT JAMAICA The Metropolitan Jockey Clubs spring meeting began on May 10 and came to an end on May 25. embracing nine racing days, during which time fifty -four races were decided and 0,020 distributed in stakes and purses. The daily average distribution amounted to ,224. The Jamaica meeting was the most successful one conducted by the Metropolitan Jockey Club since the heyday of the sport in New York before repressive legislation nearly wiped it out entirely. The attendance was large, especially so on the two Saturdays, and more interest was displayed in the sport than has been noticed in many a year. J. K. L.
