w PLATE WINNINGS TO GO TO RED CROSS Toronto. Out., May 29. — George M. Ilendrie, owner of Springside. winner of the Kings Plate, donated ,000 to the Riil Cross fund at the Horse Show at Woodbit.e. George W. Beardmore, owner of Ladder of Light, the second horse, contributed 00. Thomas Crooks, who has the refreshment privileges at Woodbine, donated his whole outfit for the use of the Red Cross, which was much appreciated by the ladies in charge. The Plate race was worth ,540 to the winner. Jockey Mink was made a presentation of 00. After staking the others connected with the training of the colt and paving his expenses on his trip. Mr. Ilen-dries profits would no doubt lie reduced to the bare piece of plate presented bv the Ontario Jockey Club. the honor and glory of winning the great race and most prized of all.
