GOOD FIELD FOR MEMORIAL HANDICAP Cream of Western Sprinting Division Named to Start in Douglas Park Holiday Race. Louisville. Ky., May 29.— The Douglas Park Jockey Clubs spring meeting has started off in a manner justifying the prediction made in advance that it would set new standards in every respect for future years at this beautiful course. The opening day crowd was a re -ord breaker, lioth in the item of numbers and the representative character of those in attendance. With the magnificent brand of racing that Is lieing provided. then-Is every reason to anticipate a continuation of these pleasing conditions throughout the entire meeting, which will be replete with features out of the ordinary. Thursday and Saturday will all be especially big days at Douglas Park this week. The capacity of the commodious plant will be taxed on these occasions. Holiday racegoers are in for a rare treat on Thursday, when the Memorial Handicap of ,000 added, at three-quarters of a mile, will be the stel lar attraction, aiouml which a fine card has been built by racing secretary Campbell. This race will be contested bv the cream of the western sprinting division, with former Senator Camden s speed marvel Solly iu the post of honor as top weight. _ . . .
