, , . , , j , j . j [ , THIRTY LEADING MONEY- WINNING HORSES OF THE PRESENT YEARS RACING CAMPAIGN TO DATE The nobly achieved victory of Cudgel in the Kentucky Handicap served to put him at the head of the thirty leading nu.ney-winning horses of 1!»1S with such a margin in his favor as to indicate that, all going well with him. he is likely to remain in his present place of supremacy for some time. On the basis of weiuht for a.ge and as matter are at present, he is much the best horse now engaged in our racing and a great credit to that wonderful sire of brilliant race horses. I.n-.omsii-k. Of the latter it may bo said that in Cudgel. Eseoba and Leochares he has three line representatives in the list of thirty best winners, while Star Shoot has none, indicating that it may hi- his year to triumph over his long-time rival • for the premiership among our leading sires. To date six horses have won £10.000 or more, the recent additions being tlie crack two-year old filly. Ellin Uuocu. and the excellent three-year-old colt. Motor Cop. Both are welcome additions and evidently destined to reap honors other than those they have already gathered. Duly three two-year-olds. Ellin Queen. Billy Kelly and Pen Bose. have earned a place in the thirty list, but the decision of the many rich stake races ahead for horses of that age will bring others in before long. In the meantime the thirty leading winners aud their records to date are here presented: Horse. Col. Sex. Age. Pedigree. Owner. Sts. 1st. Id. 3d. Unp. Amt.
