LOUISVILLE IS NOW TURF MECCA Many Owners Horses and Followers of the Sport Arriving There Daily from Latonia Louisville Ky July 17 Louisville is now tho Mecca for hundreds of horse owners followers of the turf and others connected with tho snort in different capacities A majority of the Falls City delegation who took part in the recent Latonia meeting returned to their native heath to rest up until the autumn session of racing in the Blue Grass State Incidentally most of the horsemen who camo back to tho Falls City returned well satisfied as the Louisvilleowned horses mote than held their own during the twentysix days racing at the Milldale course courseFor For the next few days there will be a continu ¬ ous stream of horses pouring into Churchill Downs and Douglas Park to spend the summer months Only the larger stables left for the east they being Jefferson Livingston E R Bradley George J Long T C McDowell J S Ward and K It McLean It is doubtful however if any of thos3 establishments get to run their horses before the Saratoga meeting because they cannot get horsa cars at present in which to ship shipAmong Among tho arrivals from Latonia yesterday was starter A 15 Dade whose work with the barrier on the Kentucky circuit this spring was a revelation to racegoers Mr Dade is a native of Henderson Ky and he stopped off here enroute to his home where ho will spend the balance of the summer William Snyder his chief assistant went to his home near St Louis where ho has a farm and ho will put in the remainder of the summer looking after his crops James Osborne who for years was assistant starter to Mars Cassidy and Harry Mor rissey and who now holds a similar position with Mr Dadei went to Now York and he will remain at homo until the opening of the Indianapolis meet ¬ ing the last part of August He will act as starter at that meeting
