FINE OUTLOOK FOR MARLBORO SEASON Programs Provide for Seven Races Daily and Many Good Horses Are Expected There Baltimore 3M August 20 Condition books for the threeday meeting of the Southern Maryland Fair and Itacing Association at Marlboro beginning Thursday afternoon have been distributed among the horsemen now quartered at the Prince Georges county track Iimlico the Gentlemens Driving Park and Timonium The programs provide for seven races each afternoon including a handicap and a race groundThat over a distance of ground That trainers in this section are taking keen in ¬ terest in the meeting is evidenced by the large number of applications for stalls and it is predicted by those who are in a position to know that despite the fact that there will be two days less racing than heretofore there will be an ample number of luirsi on the scene by opening day to comfortably fill every contest carded by the management managementStables Stables are now being moved from Iimlico the Driving Park am Timonium to the picturesque little course ri southern Maryland and there will prob ¬ ably lie a better quality of horses in attendance than at any previous meeting there The handicaps in particular will attract performers that have 1een bracketed over the mile tracks in the east and in Canada and General Manager William C Brooks is now it the course for the purpose of seeing that everything is in the pink of condition for the in ¬ augural days entertainment entertainmentThe The Marlboro track is one of the safest halfmile courses in the country and while it has a steeple ¬ chase course this feature has been eliminated be ¬ cause of the scarcity of steeplechasers in this sec ¬ tion at this time timeThe The program for Timonium which will conduct a meeting when Mnrllxiro closes and before the sport gets under way on the mile tracks includes steejdechasing and it is expected a couple of in ¬ teresting cross country events will be decided over the Baltimore County course courseWith With the exception of the appointment of the veteran racing official W W Lyle as patrol judge those in charge of the sport are practically the same as have ruled in the past at Marlboro corgi T Miller will again send the fields away C C Hall William E Holmead and J M Anderson will net as the stewards and the judges while C Ernest Hall will be on the job as the paddock judge Harrv Price will act as clerk of the scales Wash orvell as racing secretary and William C Brooks as general manager
