GREAT SARATOGA STAKES TO CLOSE Seven of the great stakes which annually lend distinction and interest to Saratoga racing are to close for entries at midnight of this day Five are for twoyearolds of next year and are made up of such topliners as the 30000 Hopeful Stakes United States Hotel Stakes Grand Union Hotel Stakes Spinaway Stakes and the Grab Bag Handi ¬ cap The other two are for threeyearolds of 1920 being the historic Travers Stakes for entire colts and fillies and the rich Alabaiiia Stakes for fillies alone Obviously no owner of a wellbred yearling can afford to dishcurd such tempting prizes of the turf and it is to be hoped their patron ¬ age tiuin the west will be seiurous iu l eeUcjue
