KENTUCKY SHIPMENT TO CUBA FRIDAY Large Consignment Will Xeave Latonia on Special Train Going Direct to Oriental Park Cincinnati O November 2fi Friday next the day following the close of the Latunia Jockey Clubs fall racing season has been selected as the day for the departure for Cuba of the horses that Jiavel een booked from this locality to participate in tin Cuba American Jockey Clubs approaching winter raca meeting of one hundred or more days duration The shipment will go forward by special train direct from the Latonia track to the gates of Oriental Park Besides some twenty cars to transport the horses the equipment will embrace sleepers day coaches dining cars and baggage cars to accommo ¬ date owners trainers jockeys and turf followers who will go along alongH H I Brown president and general manager of the Cuban track wired that he will be hero on Wednesday next for a conference with turfmen from this section who may be planning to racu in Cuba next winter He sent word that the shipments of horses that have already left eastern tracks for Cuba are of much better quality than in any previ ¬ ous season since the Oriental Park track was opened in 1915 which wune condition will apply to the big shipment soon lo go forward frmn here On this account and Idcause of the closing of the war he is looking forward to a recordbreaking season of racing in Cuba Havana is reported to be enjoying unprecedented prosperity and the sportloviug peo ¬ ple of that city are eagerly looking forward to the opening of the racing season seasonAVith AVith the passport restrictions relaxed as a result of the ending of the world war a much heavier tide of tourist travel to Cuba is expected this year and this will play its part in the success of the Cuban sport Greater interest is being taken in Cuban racing among American followers of the sport than at any previous time and reports indicate that many parties of prominent American racing intn will be made up at various times during the winter for the trip to the island both to enjoy the racing and the other delights of a sojourn in that winter paradise
