CURTAILING HUMAN PRIVILEGES Street cars l etwoen St Paul and Minneapolis no longer will carry passengers who are not able to pay their fare For many years the transportation company permitted fiiiahcliilly embarrassed persons to ritle on its cars and receive an envelope from a conductor after promising to send the nickel to the company companyHundreds Hundreds of such passengers were carried every day and the company found practically 80 of the envelopes were returned with the fare fareThe The system which has now been abolished was adopted to accommodate persons temporarily em ¬ barrassed but many persons made a practice of using it to get a Tree ride rideThe The St Paul and Minneapolis street car line was theoiily one in the nation to adopt this system
